How to search emoji by name or keyword
The search box accepts more than exact names. A few small habits make it much easier to find the right character.
Use a distinctive word
Search for a word that appears in the emoji name or keywords, such as "sparkles", "shrug" or "birthday". Very broad words can return a long list, so add a second word when you can.
Paste the emoji itself
If you already have the character, paste it into the search field. EmojiBase matches the character directly and opens its page without a results list.
Try the English name
Names and keywords are translated where data is available, but the English name is always a reliable fallback. If a translated search is thin, try the English term.
When nothing appears
Check for extra spaces or a partial word. If the emoji is new, the local data set may not include it yet. New Emoji releases reach operating systems and data sets at different times.
